New York Comic Con 10/16/11
We knew in advance this was going to be an interesting NYCC. Tickets sold out in advance for every day except for Friday. We picked up our press badges and entered the Javit's Center at about 10:30am.Our main concern for this show was to see the new action figure lines coming out. Mattel seemed to have the most impressive line up. They not only had the best quality in sculpt and paint applications, but has the most figures on display. DC Universe, WWE, Masters Of The Universe and Ghostbusters were all featured.
Mattel
Hasbro had a Jem And The Holograms vintage doll collection on display. For new product, Thor, Marvel Universe, Marvel Legends, Star Wars and G.I. JOE were all featured. The G.I. JOE was the most impressive while the Star Wars Phantom Menace line was stale and uninteresting.

Methods and Materials: Sculpting with the Mattel Design Team Panel- Sunday, 10/16 at 2:30 - 3:30pm
This was the only panel we attended at NYCC. I thought it was very informative, but not at all what I expected. They explained what tools they used to sculpt, but never gave any demonstration of actual sculpting. The panel was more about the production process of an action figure.
